Regions And Places

The organisation of the Croatian Cultural Association in Burgenland is adapted to the conditions in Burgenland and supports the association’s activities at village and regional level as well as supra-regional activities.

The Croatian Cultural Association has over 3500 members and is therefore the largest and not only the oldest organisation of Burgenland Croats. The association is based in Eisenstadt, Dr Lorenz Karall-Straße 23, and opened a branch in Oberwart in 2003. This means that the southern Burgenland region also has a contact point for the organisation in its vicinity. The office opening hours can be found under the menu item “Contact”.

In the bilingual localities, the members are organised in local committees – in a total of 29 localities. These committees determine the activities of the association in their locality and represent the closest contact to the members. The representatives of the local committees meet regularly in the district committees (regions).

The Croatian Cultural Association is represented in all three regions of Burgenland – Northern, Central and Southern Burgenland. This regional structure is also reflected in the association’s statutes. The three deputies of the chairman come from the three different regions of Burgenland. Furthermore, the annual general assembly always takes place in a different region.
